There are many software available to solve this task but as we know, installing separate software to perform different tasks may not be a good idea. Window Resizer is a useful extension for Google chrome which helps users resize browser window and test website layouts in different resolutions. The extension provides users with wide range or resolutions to check how their websites appear in different devices, smartphones etc. If you want, you can even customize the resolutions or add a new resolution in which you want to check the appearance of your website.
Usage
Windows Resizer is really simple and easy-to-use. Once installed, a new Windows Resizer icon will appear in Google Chrome bar as shown below.
Now, open any website which you want to test and click on Windows Resizer icon. It will show you the list of different resolutions along with different screen types (desktop, laptop/notebook, mobiles).
If you think that any resolution size is not in the list, you can manually add it through the extension settings. Just click on the extension icon, click on Edit Resolution and it will open extension presets where you can define the resolution along with screen type. After filling the required fields, click on the Save button.
You can modify basic extension settings as well. Click on the extension icon and go to Settings. Click on the settings and change the settings such as basic windows position, extension icon behavior and much more.
You can even import/export settings from different browsers as well through the Import/Export tab.
